The Needy Home Academy residential school is established by Dr. R. Chance and his wife Mrs. R. Angam, both Associate Professors at D.M University, Imphal, Manipur. The school was functioning along with the Govt. UJB School (2004) for some years and then upgraded each year. The Mapao Zingtun village authority, women’s society, and the Church authority fully cooperated with the establishment. In the year 2013, the school separated from the Govt. School, and was shifted to the present location due to the pressing needs of the villagers and others around the area.
And so the school began with the vision and burden from the Lord to impart quality education along with sound spiritual and moral principles. We believe it is a sacrificial effort for the poor and the needy who are not in a position to attend good schools in the cities. The school is equipped with all the essential amenities needed for a boarding school and by the grace of God, all our children’s needs are satisfied.
The school is the result of the efforts of our founders having a burden to serve God and the needy without having the motive to earn profits. There are six hostels- Sub-Juniors Hostel, Juniors Hostel, Senior Girls’ Hostel, Senior Boys’ Hostel, Orphanage Home for girls, and Orphanage Home for boys. The two orphanage homes and the staff members make up a big family where we share a constant fellowship. A unique quality of the school is the testament from the residents about how they experience the presence of God as they are taught the word of God and made to grow in faith through each of their shared individual experiences in the school.
